OUR COMPETITION JUDGE:
Ernesto Esquer is a photographic artist and printer from Tucson, Arizona. He actively works in all aspects of traditional darkroom photography and various alternative processes including cyanotype and lumen prints. He has extensive experience working with Polaroid, Fujifilm, and Impossible Project films and teaches instant film manipulations.
He received his BFA in Photography from the University of Arizona and is currently the Laboratory Specialist at Pima Community College. Most recently he was the printer and curatorial assistant for the Louis Carlos Bernal exhibition Arizona, Unseen: Color Photographs 1978-1988. His first book In No Time, a collection of hand colored or toned gelatin silver prints, will be released in mid-2017.

Competition & Prizes
The Curious Camera Competition is a friendly competition calling on artists worldwide to embrace the unpredictability and fascination of photography using their favorite cameras and processing techniques.
1st, 2nd & 3rd place winners will receive a fine art print of their winning submission, a gift certificate to Photographic Works and a trophy they can proudly display. Winning images along with 20 Honorable Mentions will be featured in our gallery exhibition. All submissions will be featured on social media.
Images must be made with one of the following camera categories or processing techniques:
Pinhole - homemade or manufactured
Plastic Lens - Holga, Diana, Blackbird Fly, etc.
Vintage - older than 1960; ex: No. 2 Brownie, Leica II etc.
Instant - Polaroid, Fuji Instax, Impossible, etc.
Alternative Process: Cyanotype, Vandyke, Gum Bichromate, Salt, Lumen, etc.
ArtsEye Gallery Exhibition Saturday, April 29th
Judges will select the winning and honorable mention inmages which will be printed and framed by Photographic Works. Artwork will be 8x10 archival pigmented ink prints on smooth watercolor paper, framed with museum quality materials. Artists will have the opportunity to sell their artwork and purchase prints.
All submission images will be digitally projected in our gallery. .
